The area of Velika planina is Slovenia’s largest highland pasture. It is often described as the most beautiful Slovenian plateau, offering breathtaking views of the Alps and the Ljubljana basin, accompanied by a well-preserved herdsmen’s heritage. Its landscape is characterized by vast pastures, ethnological sties and numerous karst phenomena

After we explore the mountain and try traditional Slovenian food, we walk back to our transport, waiting to take us to the next spot. We drive along Savinja river in the Solčavsko region to our destination Logarska valley. As parts of the valley are still authentic and the nature intact, it is no wonder the Upper Savinja valley is considered one of the most beautiful Alpine valleys of Europe.

Quiet and off the tourist track, this is true unspoilt Slovenian nature. We drive to the end of the valley and hike to the famous Rinka waterfall. Maybe we will even suprise you with a romantic picnic next to a river.
